HPE Storage Analyst meeting:

Our CTO, Frederic Van Haren, spoke at the HPE Storage analyst meeting.  Discussion of use of All-Flash and Software Defined Storage (SDS) in High-Performance computing (HPC) environments. The introduction of a tiered storage approach and how this can improve the traditional North-South architecture.  Complementing with an East-West architecture to deliver storage as close as possible to compute. The two drivers for “local” high performing storage with low latency are new applications and the use of accelerator cards such as Xeon Phi and GPU cards.
